Fundraiser for Mckenzie Dillon, 16-year-old fighting cancer for the second time
Kickball with the Cops is a fundraiser for Mckenzie Dillon, and her family put together by the Santa Clara-Ivins Police Department. Mckenzie was diagnosed with Leukemia as a child back in April 4, 2006. Mckenzie made it almost 10 years cancer free. Now Mckenzie fights a different fight against Malignant Paraganglioma. This cancer is extremely rare. Paraganglioma is an endocrine tumor located on the carotid artery, and it is a benign (non- cancerous). After Mckenzie’s tumor was taken out, the doctors told her the tumors had spread to her lymph nodes which made her paraganglioma malignant (cancerous). Now Mckenzie is undergoing daily radiation treatments and has completed up to 16 radiation treatments to date to fight this! Cancer forgot who it was messing with and came back for another round.
All proceeds and donations from this fundraiser will go directly to Mckenzie and her family to help cover the cost for procedures. Let’s show the Dillon family our support.
